House Award Recipients

HGAC presented their Annual Historic Preservation Awards on
Monday, May 5th, 2008 during their Annual Membership Dinner.
This year’s awards for outstanding historic preservation projects
include remarkable examples of structures 
returned to their former glory
through painstaking efforts by the owners. 
A plaque, generously provided by David and Ellen Sites
was awarded to each of the winners.

        Five preservation awards were presented this year to:

● Bob Sharrah for the Franklin B. Picking House,

    located at 20 Chambersburg Street in Gettysburg

● James and Barbara Entwistle for the Fahnestock Mansion,

    located at 66 West Middle Street in Gettysburg

● Keith and Leslie Grandstaff for the Tillie Pierce House,

    located at 301 Baltimore Street in Gettysburg

● Pastor Donald Mitchell, accepting for the Great  Conewago Presbyterian Church,

    located at 174 Red Bridge Road in Hunterstown

A special thanks to this year’s awards committee: Gretchen Davis, Connie Farabaugh, Ernie Shriver, Stan McGee and Craig Schmitz.
