Celebrating The YEAR of the Pennsylvania BARN!!!!


Once again, artists are invited to enter HGAC's 9th Annual BarnArt Show & Sale.

The goal is the preservation of historic barns in Adams County, Pennsylvania.

Artwork can be representational or abstract, and may use any art medium, including photography.  

All artworks in the BarnArt Show & Sale must include

some representation of a barn or a detail of a barn.

BarnArt Cash Prizes

      Categories for BarnArt cash prizes are:


Adult Fine Art; Adult Photography; Student Fine Art (18 years and under) and Student Photography.  

Cash prizes for Adult categories are First Prize, $100, and Second Prize, $75.

 Student prizes are $50 First Prize and $25 Second Prize.  

 Adult Artists: Because of limited space in the GAR hall,

we can only accept entries from 50 artists. 

Registration will be first come, first served.

 Entry fee for Adults is $10 per piece, with a limit of three pieces entered per artist for display. 

There is NO FEE for Student Artists

(age 18 and under) to register. 

Artwork must be brought framed and ready to hang to the GAR Hall at 53 East Middle St., Gettysburg

between 10 AM and Noon

on Saturday, May 30 or Saturday, June 6th.

BarnArt Sales

Adult and Student artists may offer their artworks for sale to the public.

Works to be offered for sale will be marked with the sale price supplied by the artist. 

Sales of artworks will be transacted by HGAC BarnArt staff. 

HGAC will retain 30% of the sale price, the balance being remitted to the artist

within 60 days of the end of the BarnArt Show & Sale.


Any shipping costs of sold artworks will be arranged between the buyer and the artist.

Saturday, May 30th and Saturday, June 6th: 10 AM - Noon

  Intake of all BarnArt pieces (Adult and Student works)

 Monday, June 8th:

  BarnArt Judging


Wednesday, June 10th:

  BarnArt exhibit opens to the public 6-9 PM

with an Opening Night Reception 6-8 PM

Awards Presentation at 7:30 PM


Thursday, June 11th:

BarnArt exhibit open 6-9 PM

 Friday, June 12th:

  BarnArt exhibit open 6-9 PM

   Saturday, June 13th:

  BarnArt exhibit open 10 AM-6 PM

  Sunday, June 14th:

  BarnArt exhibit open Noon-4 PM

Artists should pick up their art from 4-5 PM.
