Historic Gettysburg-Adams County
HGAC is a non-profit organization formed in 1975 to spearhead and coordinate efforts to preserve and
restore the historic heritage of Adams County's townships and boroughs. An all-volunteer Board of Directors, elected by
the membership, guides the organization. Under its Articles of Incorporation filed with the Pennsylvania Department
of State, the Purposes of the organization are: "To foster and participate in the preservation, interpretation
and welfare of the historic, architectural, scenic and culturally significant areas, districts, sites, structures, objects,and
activities, and townscapes of the Borough of Gettysburg and Adams County, the Gettysburg National Cemetery
and the Eisenhower National Historic Site, and to encourage their appreciation by the general public."

month at

The following speakers will be speaking on the 3rd Tuesday of September, October and November in the GAR Building,
53 E. Middle Street, at 7:30 PM. The building is handicapped accessible. Metered parking is available. The
programs are free and open to the public.

September 21, a free
program at 7:30 pm given by Civil War Round Table president, John Winkelman, will be Historic Gettysburg Adams County's
first fall presentation. Mr Winkelman will share his abundant knowledge of historic taverns in the eastern section of
Adams County. Join us in the historic GAR Building at 53 E. Middle Street, Gettysburg. The building is handicapped accessible.

October is barn month for Historic Gettysburg-Adams County (HGAC). At 7:30
PM, Tuesday, October 19th, in the beautifully renovated handicapped accessible Grand Army of the Republic Building on
53 E. Middle Street, HGAC welcomes David Maclay, back to present a free program from his enlarged portfolio on Adams
County barns in preparation for HGAC's first barn dance October 23rd, in the historic Pulig barn in Guernsey, just outside

Historic Gettysburg Adams County ( HGAC) presents, Ken Zaveckas, reenactor and constant
Civil War researcher as our last educational speaker for 2010. Mr. Zaveckas will captivate the audience with a
powerful talk about life in 1863 Gettysburg for the citizens, children and soldiers before, during, and after the troops left
town. This free program starts at 7:30 pm at 53 E. Middle St., Gettysburg in the GAR building. The building is
